Nightlife in Les Gets
Bars, bands, bowling and the legendary Igloo nightclub!
Les Gets has a friendly yet lively bar scene. This cozy resort sports many good bars. From apres-ski open mic sessions to DJ nights until the wee small hours, here's the run down of our favorites.
The main circuit is made up of Bar Bush, Le Boomerang, Le Pic and the Irish bar.
Bar Bush is a great, friendly bar. It shows the big football matches and has internet access and even a dart board. Small and cozy, it's worth checking out
Le Boomerang is possibly the liveliest bar in Les Gets. It hosts bands, live DJ nights, hog roasts and had a big flat screen TV for the big rugby matches and a table football table! It has internet access too.
The very authentic Irish Bar serves a selection of irish beers and brews it's own as well. Worth a look, especially when they bring the bands in. They do good pub food as well.
Le Pic is the new boy on the scene. It's a great bar and also has a very good restaurant. It's the only non-smoking bar in les gets, and has a projector for the big sports games. It has a host of events each week from open mic nights, lady's nights and bands. For evening meals they offer a minibus service to drop you at your door afterwards! Will be big in 07/08.
There are many other decent bars in les gets too worth checking out:
Bar Bowling has a possibly the best music in Les Gets. It has 2 bowling lanes, a dart board, 2 pool tables and great music every night. Open until 2am, it's definitely worth popping in too.
The Canadian Bar is well themed with pictures, signs and even a stuffed bear! It has a pool table and dart board too, though it is quite expensive.
PMU/Urban Cafe (name depends on which sign you look at!) can be very lively, with loud euro pop pumping it's popular with the locals. Good for big night out, bad for chilling.
Zebra 3 is normally the last stop before L'igloo, our only nightclub. It's very lively, plenty of music and lights it's one for the party goers, though maybe not for the chill with a beer type nights!
And finally there's L'igloo, Les Get's nightclub! As one of the oldest buildings on the main street of Les Gets, this place is very much an institution here. It starts to fill up at 1.30am then the party rolls on through until 5.30 every morning. It's expensive though (unless you are a seasonaire), but it's good for a laugh for the big nights out on your holiday.
